So you’re looking for the perfect destination for a celebrationn in Nerja but you don’t want to travel half way around the world on a long haul flight in less space than under your stairs. You think of Spain and the Costa del Sol and you might think of bustling tourist areas selling cheap souvenirs and Lucky Lucky men harassing you on the beach all day long to purchase their Bolex watches, but wait, it doesn’t have to be that way, there is a place that hasn’t been ravaged by tourism but don’t worry the area is fully aware of the outside world and has much to offer in the way of entertainment. Nerja.
Unlike so many of the former small fishing villages to the west of Malaga, Nerja's development over the last thirty years has been slow and measured making it the perfect choice for a beach holiday that’s not to far away from the British Ilse. It has very few of the concrete tower blocks which litter the coast elsewhere. The town has welcomed foreign residents while it has maintained its unique Spanish character. Locals and the local council have always encouraged foreigners to participate in local activities and has enabled their integration rather than segregation.
So, what is the attraction? Why do so many people decide that Nerja is their ideal place in the sun The climate is a factor, of course. The average annual temperature is around nineteen degrees Celsius which is around sixty six Fahrenheit with highs in the summer of over thirty degrees Celcius which is around eighty six in July and August which enjoy many cloudless days. Even then, in Summer Nerja tends to be eight or ten degrees cooler than the searing heat in cities such as Cordoba, where temperatures of over forty Celsius are not uncommon. In winter, it can be chilly but there is never a frost generally, daytime temperatures rarely fall below ten degrees and even in mid winter can be nudging past twenty degrees Rainfall is of critical importance in Andalusia where the land still provides employment and income for almost a tenth of the population. After a very dry spell in the early nineteen nineties, rainfall increased in the Winter of ninety five to ninety six with a maximum of around three hundred millimetres in one month the following winter.
If you are looking for a great place for your beach holiday then Nerja is the place to visit and hold your celebration. Take your time and have a look around this website for more information on the area and the properties we have to offer travellers.
